On the 5th and 6th of September, Jeff Allen (Army veteran who spent 21 years in the Special Forces) and Agata Hidalgo (Nutritional Therapist) introduced us to the Healthy Lifestyle Program. The two main topics discussed were nutrition and fitness. We also took part in the ‘Hunter Game’, which involved a series of mini-games that involved exercise.
Jeff constantly stated how vital a healthy lifestyle is, and broke it down into 6 simple categories. Exercise, diet, sleep, friends and family, work and relaxation. I learned that it’s very easy to lead a healthy lifestyle by using these guidelines. I also learned that teamwork and trying your best is important everywhere in life after Jeff’s talk and through playing the ‘Hunter Game’.Finally, Agata taught us about nutrition.
REFLECTION:Having heard her speech about unhealthy food and ingredients, I realised the areas which I could improve in my diet in order to have a healthy lifestyle.
Overall, I found the Healthy Lifestyle Program to be very beneficial for myself and I’m sure it will be valuable for me for life.
